dr_clockwork I while back, when I was first interested in medical play, the Dr. was the one to show me different tools and their uses.  We currently have about 10 medical tools in our evil drawer all from the Dr.

Dr. Clockwork himself and his company have been a great support of my journey to ICBB this year.  And once more will raised the bar on helping the community (come see him perform the first ever Electrified Elven Pinata at the Night of the Misfit Toys (details in previous post))

Has offered up a discount code for 15% off anything on their site.

So please go take a look www.drclockwork.com. and use the code “brandon” for your 15% off at checkout.

I know whats the point of having a blog if i never write in it..

So much has happened since i last updated.

  • fund raisers

  • parties

  • ICBB

  • munches

  • starting an international bootblack organization

  • fund raisers

So lets see, where to begin?

okay International Community Bootblack contest was such an awesome experience.

I want to congratulate all the winners, but especially Syr Evan who went above and beyond and not only won the international title but also the golden brush award.  I wish i could do a step by step of that weekend but its still a giant blur, but the main points are that i had a ton of fun, learned some new stuff, met some great people and got to experience an international contest first hand.

ICBB 09 the year of the bird. *smiles*

Tonight Nov 24th i will be at the NJKink munch’s one year anniversary. I will be collecting winter clothing for a local homeless shelter in PA. Your donations go directly to those in need.

The new organization i am speaking of is www.bootblackbrigade.com The Bootblack Brigade exists to continue the proud Leather tradition of bootblacking through service to our local, regional, and international communities. We stand united on a path of honor to bring up the next generation of bootblacks. Above all else the Bootblack Brigade strives to share our passion for leathercare with Leather and non-leather folk alike through outreach and educational opportunities.

NJ Leather 2010

right to left: Cowboi Jen (MidAtlantic Leather Woman 2009), Morgaine (Ms NJ Leather 2010), Ky Eaton (Mid Atlantic Leather SIR 2009), boy Eddie (Mid Atlantic Leather boy 2009), Damien (Mr NJ Leather 2010), Brandon (Mid Atlantic Community BootBlack 2009)

I was honored to be present for the Mr & Ms New Jersey Leather contest, Where my very good friend Morgaine was sashed Ms New Jersey Leather 2010. Her fantasy was touching and heartfelt. Her speech was from the heart and bared a lot of who she was as not only a person but as a Leather Woman. I had the honor of being the bootblack she chose to tend to her boots for the competition.

I would like to also welcome Damien as Mr New Jersey Leather 2010. Damien’s Leather Heart was showing through constantly throughout the competition.

I can only see awesome things coming out of Jersey this next year.

Congrats!!!

Of course I’m delayed on my updates, any big surprise there?  Seriously though,  TESFest was a very well attended event over 4thof July weekend.  I was not only able to bootblack for the event but I also coordinated the Raffle and Silent auction along with the QueerSpace Party and TransSwim. I was also part of the “Charity/Celebrity Auction” which raises funds for the NCSF. I went for $100.00, for a private bootblacking class.  I also was bought during the silent auction for a private bootblack class.   To think I also had time to sleep, eat and play. During the Charity auction, My Miss and i bought Sarah Sloane, for either a bootblack scene (with her bootblacking) or a private class on any of the topics that she teaches!!

I wish I could go back and tell you detail by detail of how the weekend went in order but there is no possible way.  Alot of fun was had.

Half the proceeds from the Raffle and Silent Auction went towards the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund in NYC. The other half went towards my International Travel Fund. I’m happy to say that the response to this fundraiser was phenomenal! Thank you to all of you who bought tickets for the raffle and placed bids on the silent auction.

I would like to thank the vendors and stores who went out of their way and donated piece(s) to the raffle and silent auction:

June 13th: Bootblacking @ Black Phoenix Philadelphia, PA

June 20th-21st: Bootblacking @ Leather Pride Night/ Folsom Street East NYC
June 27th: Bootblacking @ Black Phoenix, PA

So my last post was on June 10th, needless to say, June has been a very busy month.

I went to Foreplay &  Asbury Park (NJ) Pride, and not only got to march in the parade but also got to be there as my fellow bootblack, Kyle as the First Northeast Community Bootblack 2009. It was an awesome weekend. I got sunburn but it was totally worth it.

The  following Friday we had an all male fundraiser for all the Mid-Atlantic 2009 titleholders at a local club here in Philly.  That Saturday, It was back to the local club for a fundraiser for my sash sister, Cowboi Jen, the Mid-Atlantic Leather Woman 2009. Then it was off to Philly Pride on Sunday.

I had a great time at Philly pride minus some usual drama. The Miss got to walk in her first Pride Parade ever, at Asbury Park Pride she rode in a truck and avoided cameras. I was very proud when she decided to march at Philly Pride.

The following weekend it was off to NYC for LPN and Folsom Street East.  We were joined by Matt and Jackie, Mr and Ms Capital Pride Leather 2009, repectively.  We had an awesome time.  Then we went back to our hotel room and tried to recoup for Folsom street East. The hotel we had was awesome, It was huge by every standard and was under $150 per night.  I bootblacked most of the time at FSE, and then had a chance to walk around and talk to people and just have some plain ole fun.

While there I got to meet Eyal the creator of  Boy Butter. Eyal has graciously sponsored me and my endevours. Providing me with not only some merchandise to raffle/auction off, but also the ability to send you all to www.shoplube.com and if you use the coupon code “BUTTER” you will receive 10% off.   Thank you Eyal!

    Next up.

    July 3rd – 6th: Bootblacking @ TESFest, NJ

Fundraiser at the Crucible in DC. (Not Mine).

This Fundraiser is going to two seperate charities as listed below.

Have you heard about the fact that AIDS in Washington DC has reached epidemic proportions, reaching 3% of the population, three times that of the rest of the country?
    Well, it has.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/03/14/AR2009031402176.html

This means, of course, that the poorest among us who contract this disease are especially hard hit. Where do those without resources go to deal with the devastating results of this plague?

    In DC, it’s Joseph’s and Miriam’s Houses.
    http://www.josephshouse.org/
    http://www.miriamshouse.org/

“The mission of Miriam’s House is to provide a dynamic residential community for women living with HIV disease that empowers recovery from homelessness, disease and addictions in an environment of compassion, integrity, and accountability.”

“The mission of Joseph’s House is to provide a home, nursing services, and community for formerly homeless men and women in metropolitan Washington DC who are terminally ill and in the last weeks or months of their illness. While our primary mission is to those with AIDS, as space is available we also welcome men and women with other terminal illnesses.”

To further complicate things, in these harsh economic times, much of the usual financial support for both these establishments has dried up.

The Crucible has long supported and participated in fund-raising efforts to help these hospices, but we feel it’s time to do more.

On July 11th, we are holding a major fund-raising effort to raise as much money as we can in support of their efforts. This will be a musical extravaganza, featuring the musical talents of half a dozen bands and scores of individual musicians of all musical persuasions ~ Rock, Jazz, Folk & Dixieland Jazz to name a few. At the same time, we will drag out many of the usual fund-raising mechanisms, a casino, 50/50 raffles, silent auction, bikini car wash, etc.

Entry will be $10 per person.
ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHARITIES

As the plans start to solidify, we’ll update our web page with further details, and put out periodic posts to keep you informed. Mark it on your calendar. Please spread the news to all you know. This will be a “vanilla” night at the Crucible.

If you have something you’d like to donate, or have a new and different idea that might help raise more, by all means let us know. If you’re particularly flush, and would like to donate matching funds for all, or even part of our efforts we definitely would like to hear from you. If you have a musical talent, or skill (like sound reinforcement) that would be useful, we’re accepting all good help.

    Saturday July 11, 2009
    Mark it on your calendar.

Please distribute as widely as possible.

    For the Crucible,
    Frazier

This past weekend, I had the honor of co-hosting Leather Invasion down in DC with Jackie and boy Eddie (Mid-Atlantic Leather boy 2009). It’s where a bunch of Leather Folk get together and “invaded” another bar to increase awareness of the Leather Lifestyle. Afterwards we all went to the DC Eagle.  It was a very fun and exciting night to say the least.

On Saturday, We all met up at the DC Eagle for some fundraising for my travel fund.  I was able to borrow the resident Bootblack’s chair and provide my services for the night.  I wound up doing alot more Oil Tan boots than high shines which seems to be the exact opposite of anywhere else I have bootblacked in the past. Thanks again to Jackie for being an awesome host and helping me out.

On Sunday morning, the trek began to go up to Central Jersey for the Mavens of Mayhem BBQ, and WOW what an awesome turnout. It was nice to spend the day with people who I normally only see in a kinky enviroment.

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported me! It was a great weekend!

I am tired but revved up for Pride Month. In fact this weekend in Asbury Park, I will be there to welcome the Northeast Community BootBlack 2009 into the Class of 2009.  Good luck to all the contestants.

One of my friends, held a small fundraiser for us at her munch. Based on the fact that there was no promotion of the fundraiser we did awesome. Those who usually come out for the night, put in more than I expected. Which was awesome.

Not only doing the kinky bingo and the 50/50 raffle, Caro came out and spoke to the group about Leather history and protocols. It truly was an amazing night! Thank again to all of those who came out and showed your support to the community and thanks to those who donated to the travel funds. It is truly appreciated.
